Substance use disorders (SUD) also affect nurses and overlap with suicide when nurses are reported, are suspected of, or lose their licenses due to SUD. Offer regular check-ins, mental health assessments, and well-being programs for nurses throughout their careers. Supply resources and programs for vicarious and secondary trauma.
