How long have you worked in the nursing field? I earned my LPN in 2011, then passed the NCLEX-RN in 2012 after graduating from Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Nursing is a second career for me. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Pueblo, Colorado for many years before retiring.

Some bedside nurses are exploring other opportunities within the profession, including leadership positions.

Some months back I posed the question: "Would I recommend nursing as a career?" Now that I'm retired, I don't miss the constant struggle of trying to do the job that I knew could, and should, be done. As seniors, the floor nurses were much more patient with us, and we were treated as legit extra hands instead of nuisances.
