A nurse anesthetist can work in surgical clinics, emergency rooms, outpatient care centers, doctors’ offices, respiratory therapy departments, or within the military. APRNs are currently in very high demand. A nurse anesthetist is considered an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), which requires 6 to 8 years of higher education.
