In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nurses have experienced higher rates of burnout which has led to an increased number of Nurses leaving bedside Nursing or even the Nursing profession altogether. We can expect the demand for Nurses to remain high for many years.

This American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) reviewed a nursing workplace survey from 2022. It indicated that the median age of a registered nurse is 46 and estimated that a quarter of nurses plan to retire or leave the profession over the next five years [5]. This is detrimental to patient safety.
